I made up my first batach of hide glue today and put it in little bottles, but I have a white froth on top, like the head of a beer, os this normal ? or did I mess it up

I've never seen that, but maybe if you were stirring it quite a bit it will froth up. It should pour like warm honey when you heat the hide glue. If so, then you are good to go.

I mixed it on a one to one intially, and then thinned it until it was able to flow without being runny.
